OVERVIEW OF ROLE
Sinapse is an Australian based professional services and IT management services company with a focus on strategy, people, processes, and systems.
The Business Analyst, reporting to the Head of Operations, will play a pivotal role in shaping the way we work. In this position, you will serve as the essential bridge between business needs and technology solutions, transforming ideas into clear, actionable outcomes. In addition, you will collaborate closely with a diverse mix of stakeholders, applying exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to build strong relationships and ensure alignment.
The is a 12 month contract role and is based at a client site in East Melbourne for 3 days per week and WFH 2 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Business Analyst’s responsibilities, activities and accountabilities include (not in priority order) and from time to time these may change in agreement with the Head of Operations and partner/partners:
- Delivering insights that enable success across the organisation.
- Lead business analysis activities across complex projects, including business process mapping, requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Facilitate workshops to capture current and future state processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Support transformation initiatives by documenting both functional and non-functional requirements and developing clear business process maps.
- Produce high-quality documentation, including current state (As-Is) and future state (To-Be) business processes, using BPMN.
- Develop detailed system requirements, such as Requirements Specifications and User Stories, ensuring business needs are translated into actionable outcomes.
- Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to track system and user acceptance testing against business requirements
- Collaborate effectively with team members to contribute to additional tasks and project deliverables as required.
SKILLS
Essential
- Proven experience working as a Business Analyst, with a track record of delivering impactful outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and the software development lifecycle.
- Demonstrated expertise in workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment across diverse teams.
- Advanced stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Proficiency in Business Process Modelling (including BPMN) and producing clear, comprehensive documentation. Experience with Signavio is preferred but not mandatory
- Excellence in requirements gathering, elicitation, and analysis, translating business needs into actionable specifications.
- Ability to develop high-quality requirements documentation and user stories that drive effective solutions.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in engaging executives, managers, and technical teams alike.
- Strong business acumen, capable of understanding complex requirements and shaping them into practical, value-driven solutions.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving business environments and shifting priorities.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Technology agnostic mindset, with the ability to evaluate and work across diverse platforms, tools, and environments without bias, always focusing on business value.

Desirable
- Skilled in developing testing documentation, including test scripts and supporting materials.
- Hands-on experience with System Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Proficient in defect management and resolution, ensuring quality outcomes.
- Experienced in creating and delivering training documentation, such as user guides, quick reference materials, and conducting training sessions.
- Background in working with enterprise solutions such as Salesforce, SAP Business One / S4Hana, or Microsoft Dynamics.
