Job Description

The Story

Sinapse is Australia's premier boutique IT consulting firm, born from four senior executives' vision to revolutionize professional services. Over 16 years, they've built an exceptional reputation for delivering smart, cost-effective solutions across Capital Intensive Industries, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, and the Public Sector.

What sets them apart? Their diverse, gender-balanced team of experts and all onshore resources. They offer exposure to varied, challenging projects across Resources, Pharmaceutical, Retail, and Not-for-Profit sectors.

As a result of significant growth they are looking for a Business Analyst to join the team.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Operations, this Senior Business Analyst role sits at the heart of business and technology—acting as the all-important bridge that turns “We need this” into “Here’s how we’ll do it.”

You’ll collaborate across a diverse stakeholder landscape, lead analysis on complex initiatives, and help guide two major projects—one being a significant ERP implementation using SAP as the core platform. Expect plenty of workshops, process deep-dives, documentation, and the chance to meaningfully influence transformation outcomes.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract, onsite at the client’s East Melbourne offices, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivering insights that support successful outcomes across the organisation.
  • Running business analysis activities across complex projects—process mapping, requirements gathering, documentation, stakeholder engagement… the full BA toolkit.
  • Facilitating workshops to capture current and future state processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Developing clear, accurate As-Is and To-Be process maps using BPMN (Visio skills essential; Signavio is a bonus).
  • Defining functional and non-functional requirements that genuinely reflect business needs.
  • Producing high-quality documentation—Requirements Specifications, User Stories, integration needs, data flows and more.
  • Building and maintaining a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) through system and user acceptance testing.
  • Contributing to testing activities (scenarios, acceptance criteria) and supporting UAT.
  • Collaborating with the project team to jump into additional tasks and deliverables as needed.

You’ll juggle competing priorities, navigate evolving project environments, and manage a broad stakeholder group—so adaptability, clarity and confidence are key.

What You Bring To The Role

You’re someone who knows how to take the lead with confidence, but also partner closely with others to deliver seamless outcomes.

Your toolkit includes:

  • 5–10 years’ experience as a Business Analyst with strong, demonstrated results.
  • Excellent facilitation skills—you can run a workshop like a pro and extract the gold from every conversation.
  • Deep experience in process mapping (BPMN) using Visio; Signavio familiarity is a nice bonus.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies and the SDLC.
  • Advanced stakeholder management—you build trust easily and influence effectively at all levels.
  • Strong documentation capability across requirements, user stories, RTMs and process flows.
  • Experience supporting ERP or systems integration projects (SAP experience highly regarded).
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills; meticulous attention to detail.
  • A tech-agnostic mindset—focused on value, not tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the confidence to engage executives, SMEs and technical teams.
  • Exposure to Salesforce, SAP B1/S4HANA, or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Test planning, test scripting or hands-on UAT support
  • Experience creating training manuals or user guides.

Next Steps

If you’re a confident Senior BA who loves clarity, collaboration and crafting outcomes and ideas that actually work in the real world, I'd love to hear from you.
